Bobbie Eisenstock, Ph.D.

I teach, write, and consult about the social and psychological effects of new  interactive media on children, teens and families. My workshops are about using media literacy to empower ourselves in the digital culture.

I started talking to parents about their family's media habits when my children's preschool teachers asked me to speak at the parent education evening. My kids are now thirty-something and I am still educating parents about media and kids. . . as well as teachers, counselors, health professionals, youth advocates, and everyone who cares about the well-being of children.

Over the years, the emerging media environment has been my passion and shaped my professional interests. My workshops use my experience as a college professor, media researcher, youth advocate, and mother.

What I do is translate the research evidence into practical information about what we can do to use media to our own best advantage.
Now that anyone can create digital content, we need to understand what that means in our lives. . . especially for our kids.
